Left untreated, gingivitis can progress to the much more serious condition of periodontitis. The more severe your symptoms, the more at risk you are for tooth and bone loss, heart disease and even Alzheimer’s disease. Having a good oral health routine can help, but sometimes it is not enough. There are several other factors that contribute to gingivitis and periodontitis such as, hormones, heredity, smoking, illness and certain medications.

Healthy gums are firm, elastic and fit snugly around your teeth. If this is not what you observe when you look in the mirror, it’s time to call Anthem Periodontics to protect your health today.
